**Description:**
Nazareth Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Medical Techt to join our team!
Schedule: 8-hr night shifts
A Medical Techt conducts diagnostic laboratory tests that are important in detecting, analyzing and treating a wide variety of diseases and medical conditions. A medical Tech uses microscopes, chemicals, precision tools, analyzers and computer equipment to perform tests that give doctors and patients detailed information about various conditions, including the progress and prognosis of the patient. A Medical Tech performs standard laboratory procedures consistently providing high quality patient care. A Medical Tech is able to work independently in assigned areas (Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology).
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Perform standard laboratory procedures across Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, and Microbiology.
+ Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and analyzers.
+ Accurately process and evaluate specimens, ensuring proper labeling and identification.
+ Maintain laboratory safety standards and adhere to infection control protocols.
+ Participate in quality control, proficiency testing, and continuing education.
+ Communicate effectively with team members, departments, and patients.
+ Assist with inventory management and inspection readiness.
+ Support student interns and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
**Qualifications:**
+ Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology or completion of a 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training course with at least 6 months of clinical lab experience.
+ MLT (ASCP) certified or eligible; CLA (ASCP) certification acceptable with required coursework.
