Medical Student Coordinator
Job Description​

The Opportunity:


Saint Luke’s Hospital is seeking a Medical Student Coordinator who, under the direction of the Manager of Graduate Medical Education will perform administrative academic coordination for all medical student activity within the department. The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, day-to-day operational medical student clerkship activities. Create rotation schedules, handle personal and confidential information in a professional manner, and participate in discussions concerning the curriculum and learning objectives. Manage logistical and operational aspects of all class sessions; prepare and manage course syllabus, supporting materials, and evaluations.


The Work:

Serve as the primary contact for the affiliated medical schools, students, and hospital staff.Coordinate medical student rotations from scheduling to onboarding and offboarding, ensuring compliance with hospital, medical school, and accrediting body policies and procedures.Serve as liaison between medical schools and supervising faculty to ensure end-of-rotation evaluations are completed in a timely manner.Communicate effectively with the student, school, and program leadership regarding onboarding and orientation steps.Ensure that all students and rotations are entered in rotation management software and that all onboarding requirements are completed prior to the start of rotation.Respond to inquiries from hospitals, medical schools, faculty, residents, and students as needed.  Answer questions regarding the application, scheduling, onboarding, and orientation of medical students.Maintain medical student files and documents, in accordance with institutions records retention policies.Enter requests for network, software, and badge access.Demonstrate ability to interact with faculty, administrators, and others in a knowledgeable, confident, pleasant, and professional manner, including the ability to effectively function as a source of authority regarding student issues.Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines within a demanding, fast-paced work environment.Provide administrative support to students. Act as a liaison between students and department leadership when necessary. Establish relationships and act as a liaison to other hospitals, internal departments, and divisions regarding orientation, annual program Affiliation Agreements, and external rotations.Coordinate medical student observer ship as appropriate.Create and/or maintain external program advertising/media through websites, publications, and other such media.
