As Medical Staff Office Coordinator, your focus on ensuring proper team orientation, maintaining efficiency and meeting staff needs will ultimately impact the direct care of patients, offering a unique opportunity to make a lasting difference in your community and beyond.
A caregiver in this position works on a hybrid schedule, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with three days on-site a week at Mercy Hospital.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Coordinate administrative support services for medical caregivers and officers, including processing applications and appointments, orienting new team members and communicating information between staff, departments and administration.
Coordinate billing, collection and deposit of caregiver dues, including maintaining related records.
Assists in the preparation of, organization of, minutes, and follow-up for the Medical Executive Committee and other medical staff committees.
Assists in planning, preparing and executing medical staff events and functions.
Handle the maintenance of privileging and other provider related data.
Utilize current trends and practices in all aspects of credentialing and privileging.
Ensure the needs of the medical staff are met through efficient systems and processes in compliance with applicable accreditation and government agency standards and requirements.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience in a hospital and/or managed care setting, working with multi-specialty groups, other integrated delivery systems or medical staff services and credentialing experience OR Bachelors Degree
Knowledge of Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS state license requirements and other regulatory and accrediting entities
Knowledge of current trends and practices in all aspects of credentialing and privileging
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree
Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) Certification by the National Association Medical Staff Services
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
In some locations, ability to move up to 25 pounds

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
