Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Staff Coordinator to join our team. This role will focus on handling initial medical staff applications and utilizing MD-Staff software to maintain and manage credentials effectively. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of credentialing processes, and a proficiency in MD-Staff software.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage the initial medical staff onboarding process for all new applicants, ensuring compliance with licensing, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
+ Utilize MD-Staff software to process, track, and maintain accurate records of medical staff applications, credentials, and certifications.
+ Liaise with applicants, verifying credentials such as education, board certifications, privileges, employment history, and other qualifications.
+ Provide excellent customer service to physicians, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders, addressing inquiries associated with application and onboarding processes.
+ Coordinate with department heads and committees to ensure timely review and approval of medical staff applications.
+ Stay up-to-date on industry standards and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission and NCQA) and ensure adherence in credentialing practices.
+ Assist in the development and implementation of processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in handling credentialing applications.
Requirements
Requirements:
+ Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Medical Staff Coordinator or in a credentialing role, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
+ Software Skills: Strong proficiency in MD-Staff software is required.
+ Knowledge: Familiarity with healthcare accreditation and credentialing standards (e.g., Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS regulatory standards).
+ Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical staff services is a plus (e.g., Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist - CPCS).
+ Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
+ Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field.
+ CPCS (Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist) or CPMSM (Certified Professional Medical Services Management) certification.
