(https://www.youtube.com/user/AbbVie) Job Description Reports to: Therapeutic Area Head, Oncology + Advance science and standards of care for patients, healthcare providers, and payers. + Provide practical, clinically relevant information to support safe and effective use of AbbVie products. + Serve as a key member of the affiliate medical department and GMA field team. + Engage scientifically with external stakeholders, including thought leaders, healthcare professionals, payers, and providers. + Support assigned expert tiers through medical and scientific dialogue. + Communicate AbbVie’s marketed products and pipeline compounds in a strictly scientific, non-promotional manner. + Ensure full compliance with laws, regulations, codes of conduct, and AbbVie policies and procedures. + Strengthen AbbVie’s scientific credibility through research support, medical exchange, and collaboration. + Participate in the initiation, oversight, and follow-up of clinical studies and medical projects. + Collaborate cross-functionally with internal medical and business partners while maintaining functional independence. LOCATION This function is typically field based. Typically, up to 30% of an individual’s time may be spent working in the affiliate medical team head office – the remainder of time being spent as field based. This is subject to local needs, and the discretion of the affiliate medical director. Qualifications • Pharmacist or master’s degree required and advanced degree preferred (i.e. Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, PA or NP, BSN) in a relevant scientific discipline. Doctorate strongly preferred in a health science or clinical discipline. Significant industry experience in relevant therapeutic areas may be accepted in lieu of education requirements. • 1 or more years of experience as an MSL required • Experience in developing and maintaining expert knowledge for the assigned therapeutic area, and in medical research in general; with Oncology, Solid Tumor experience is plus • Solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment and the role of Medical Affairs to advance the medical and scientific objectives of a pharmaceutical company • Demonstrated expertise in the scientific methods applied to clinical research and current legislative/regulatory controls applicable to this research • Ability to comprehensively learn about new subject areas and environments • Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with thought leaders, physicians and other healthcare decision makers • A good understanding of written and oral English is desirable • High customer orientation • Strong commitment to compliance with the relevant rules and procedures, and to scientific quality and integrity Additional Information AbbVie is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to operating with integrity, driving innovation, transforming lives and serving our community.  Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled.
