**Job Description**
**UW Medicine’s Patient Account and Support Services department** has an outstanding opportunity for a **Medical Records Support Specialist**
**WORK SCHEDULE**
+ 40 hours per week
+ Day Shift
+ 100% Remote
**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Handle a high volume of inbound telephone calls in a structured environment working under a set schedule and tight timeframes
+ Provide patient and other customer service to internal and external callers with questions regarding access to and release of patient medical records
+ Ensure patient and other client interactions, are polite, to the point, accurate, and consistent with UW Medicine service standards
+ Maintain and update knowledge of the ROI process and status of departmental ROI work
+ Comply with UW Medicine risk management, compliance, and information security requirements
+ Attend team meetings via zoom
**REQUIREMENTS**
High school diploma and two years of customer service experience in a medical setting or office setting
OR
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
**DESIRED**
Completion of a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) program AND eligible for registration as an RHIT AND one year of experience in health information management.
