Medical Records Clerk
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and Bilingual English and Spanish Medical Records Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will play an essential part in maintaining the accuracy, security, and accessibility of patient medical records within a mental health clinic. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to confidentiality, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment. Responsibilities: • Maintain and update patient medical records in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards. • Organize, file, and retrieve medical documents to ensure a systematic and efficient record-keeping process. • Verify the accuracy and completeness of patient information, including medical histories, treatments, and diagnoses. • Respond promptly to requests for medical records, ensuring proper authorization and compliance with privacy regulations. • Assist healthcare providers and administrative staff in accessing patient information as needed. • Safeguard the confidentiality and security of all records, adhering to legal and organizational privacy policies. • Facilitate the transfer of medical records to other healthcare providers or organizations while maintaining accurate documentation of transactions. • Collaborate with the administrative team to improve record-keeping processes and support the implementation of electronic medical record systems. • Stay informed about updates to laws, regulations, and technologies related to medical record management. • Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge and efficiency in medical record practices. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus. • At least 2 years of experience in medical records management or administrative roles, preferably in a healthcare or mental health setting. • Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and standard office software such as Microsoft Office. • Strong understanding of patient privacy regulations and legal requirements for medical record management. • Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail. • Bilingual English and Spanish • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with healthcare providers and administrative staff.
