Medical Receptionist
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a strong customer service mindset, and the ability to handle multiple administrative tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience with medical software systems and a proven ability to support both patients and healthcare staff effectively. Responsibilities: • Greet patients warmly and manage their check-in and check-out processes with accuracy and efficiency. • Answer and direct incoming calls while providing exceptional customer service to patients and visitors. • Schedule appointments and maintain organized patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems. • Handle billing tasks, including insurance verifications and payment processing, ensuring accuracy in all transactions. • Utilize medical software such as Modern Medicine to perform daily administrative duties. • Create and manage charts, graphs, and other documentation to support medical staff. • Assist with patient inquiries and provide clear communication regarding appointments, procedures, and billing. • Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming for all visitors. • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all interactions and processes. Requirements • Prior experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative healthcare role. • Proficiency in medical software systems, including Modern Medicine. • Strong understanding of EHR systems and their applications in day-to-day operations. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and healthcare staff effectively. • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. • Familiarity with billing functions and insurance processes. • High attention to detail and organizational skills. • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
