Responsibilities

The Mayo Clinic is seeking a medical oncologist focused on Sarcoma to join our Division of Medical Oncology in Rochester, Minnesota.  The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest and proven record in the treatment and research related to Sarcoma. The sarcoma practice is actively growing, with a myriad of opportunities in patient care, clinical trials, and translational science. We also participate in multiple cooperative groups, including the Midwest Sarcoma Trials Partnership, NRG, SARC, and the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology.  The Division of Medical Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester has over 55 Physician Faculty members, over 30 Advanced Practice Providers, and 34 care team nurses.

The chosen candidate is expected to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary setting with other disciplines. The position will have a strong focus in the clinic setting along with protected time for research. Our clinical care team includes physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses focused on the care of patients with sarcoma. Physicians work in a team-focused environment with world renowned faculty in Orthopedic Oncology, Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology (with option for proton beam therapy), Interventional Radiology, Pathology, Cancer focused Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, and Palliative Care to provide high level and integrated care for patients with sarcoma.  The sarcoma team collaborates closely with our Pediatric Sarcoma colleagues, and an Adolescent Young Adult Program is currently under development. An active Experimental Therapeutics program is available for novel agent development and testing.  You will also have the opportunity to work with medical students, residents, hematology/oncology and surgical fellows, and visiting clinicians.



Qualifications

Candidate must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Medical Oncology. Post training Sarcoma and Clinical Trial Experience preferred but not required.

Compensation Detail

The minimum starting salary for Medical specialties may range from $202,000 to $663,037. This range reflects full-time total base compensation prior to consideration of additional experience or duties. Pay for the selected candidate will vary based on specialty, experience, FTE, internal equity, or external market data.
