Job Description
Plays a vital role in managing the front desk operations of a healthcare facility. This position involves answering incoming calls, directing them to appropriate staff members, and greeting and checking in patients for office appointments. The receptionist will handle paperwork for patients, scan insurance cards, enter demographic information into the electronic health record, and manage referrals for office visits. Collaboration with physicians, staff, and hospital personnel is essential.
Responsibilities
+ Answer telephones and direct calls to the appropriate staff member, transferring calls to voicemail when necessary.
+ Greet and direct all patients to the practice.
+ Take and receive messages for various personnel.
+ Provide callers with information such as company address, directions, fax numbers, website, and other related details.
+ Receive, sort, and fax incoming medical lab reports, distributing them to appropriate staff.
+ Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of express mail services.
+ Assist in ordering, receiving, stocking, and distribution of office supplies.
+ Perform clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, scanning, collating, and mailing.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in healthcare and prior authorizations.
+ Customer service skills with a focus on front desk operations.
+ Proficiency in clerical and medical office tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Receptionist.
+ High School Diploma required.
Work Environment
The position is based in a health center environment, which is busy and dynamic, requiring adaptability and efficiency. The working hours are Mondays from 9:30 am to 5 pm, Tuesdays from 8 am to 4 pm, Wednesdays from 8 am to 6 pm, Thursdays from 9:30 am to 5 pm, and Fridays from 9 am to 12:30 pm.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
