Medical Office Assistant
Description We are looking for a Medical Office Assistant to join our team in Hyattsville, Maryland. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in supporting the administrative needs of our healthcare facility, contributing to the smooth operation of both patient and office processes. Responsibilities: • Handle receipt and deposit entries to ensure accurate financial records. • Assist in managing the Resident Fund System, maintaining compliance and organization. • Process and review statements, invoices, and insurance verifications with attention to detail. • Oversee census management, billing operations, and collections efforts. • Track Medicaid statuses and maintain updated patient files. • Perform receptionist duties, such as answering inbound calls and greeting visitors. • Scan and organize essential documents to streamline office workflows. • Provide clerical support to ensure efficient daily operations. • Collaborate with team members to maintain a welcoming and detail-oriented environment. Requirements • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Proficient computer skills for administrative tasks and data management. • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with residents and colleagues. • Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings preferred. • Previous administrative or clerical experience required. • Familiarity with healthcare billing, collections, or insurance processes is advantageous. • Attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate records. • Excellent communication skills for handling calls and inquiries effectively.
