Description
We are in the process of recruiting a Medical Office Assistant for a healthcare team. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. This is onsite working Monday to Friday.
You will be responsible for scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and managing patient records accurately and confidentially. Additionally, you may also check patients in and out, handle billing processes, and collect payments. Other duties include monitoring office supplies, organized, and provide excellent customer service. You must have a strong understanding of medical terminologies and possess excellent communication, administrative, and organizational skills. This role often requires a high degree of discretion due to the sensitive nature of medical information. Managing incoming and outgoing calls while providing detailed information when needed. Requirements
+ Minimum of 2+ years of office experience
+ Previous experience working as a receptionist, particularly in a medical setting, is often preferred
+ Proficiency in using computer systems is necessary, including knowledge of medical software, spreadsheets, and word processing and is computer knowledgable
+ Medical office assistant interact with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals. Therefore, you must possess good listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
+ The job demands managing multiple tasks simultaneously, such as scheduling appointments, filing paperwork, and handling patient queries.
+ Medical office assistant should possess excellent customer service skills.
+ Understanding medical terms and jargon is beneficial in this role to accurately record and convey information.
+ You should be detail-oriented to ensure all medical records, billing information, and appointment schedules are accurate and up to date.
+ Dealing with patients, especially those who are sick or distressed, requires a great deal of empathy and patience.
+ Complying with patient confidentiality laws, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), is crucial.
+ You should demonstrate professionalism, as they represent the medical care facility they work for.
+ The job could involve many responsibilities that need to be executed in a timely manner. Thus, having good time management skills is a pre-requisite.
