We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. Catholic Health strives to deliver clinically excellent medical care to our patients. We are looking for a Medical Office Assistant who will provide the highest quality of patient care by being an integral part of the clinical team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative and clinical support to ensure the smooth operation of our medical office. The Medical Office Assistant s erves as an important liaison between the patient/family, providers, and other departments involved in the patient referral, treatment plan, and follow up through the Structural Heart Center. Job Details Key Responsibilities: + Welcome patients to the GSH Structural Heart Center in a professional and compassionate manner, ensuring they are comfortable and informed throughout their visit + Coordinate and schedule patient appointments for consultation and testing, ensuring accurate timing and resource availability + Confirm patient appointments, reschedule as necessary, and update scheduling systems + Efficiently obtaining patient records while ensuring HIPAA compliance and promptly uploading to EMR for clinical review + Schedule all patient appointments at the Structural Heart Center + Preps the patient chart with pre-visit planning by reviewing the next working day’s schedule and identifying gaps in care + Verify medical insurances for all patients seen through the GSH Structural Heart Center, including obtaining authorizations for necessary testing and consultations + Responsible for answering all phone calls to the GSH Structural Heart Center and addressing patient, family and doctor office requests as necessary + Maintain open communication with the doctors, nurses, and support staff to ensure smooth coordination of patients + Accurately input patient information into electronic health records (EHR) systems and update medical charts as needed + Preparing all exam rooms for patient visits, including restocking necessary medical office supplies + Rooming each patient for their office visit including obtaining vital signs, allergies, height/weight, accurate medication reconciliation, performing EKG, and completing EPIC questionnaires + Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, doctors, and support staff for the Structural Heart Center + Ensure all activities comply with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and patient confidentiality laws + Advocate for patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care and experience throughout their journey through the GSH Structural Heart Center Qualifications: + Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program + BCLS training and current certification required from: American Heart Association or American Red Cross. + Knowledge of medical terminology, billing procedures, and insurance processes is advantageous. + Proficiency with EHR systems and basic office software (Microsoft Office Suite). + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus. + Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. + Attention to detail and confidentiality is essential. + Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. Salary Range USD $25.86 - USD $33.62 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
