We are looking for a Medical Lead Rare Diseases (m/w/d) who is strategic, inspiring, and passionate about improving patients’ lives to join us in our Medical Rare & Epilepsy Team, based in Monheim, Germany.

 

About the role

You will lead the medical strategy for Rare Diseases in Germany, translating scientific insights into patient and health care system value. You will drive Medical Excellence, Launch Readiness, and compliance, ensuring effective implementation of Medical Affairs Plans. In this role, you will also provide leadership, coaching, and development for Medical Managers to ensure flawless execution and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration. You will be a key partner in shaping the future of patient care and collaborate cross-functionally on product launches and lifecycle management.

 

Who you’ll work with

You will be working in the Medical Team Rare & Epilepsy and collaborate closely with the Head of Medical Rare & Neurology, Medical Managers, and cross-functional teams including Market Access, Marketing, Patient Affairs, Regulatory, Compliance, and Pharmacovigilance. You will also engage with EU/Global teams, external experts, medical societies, and payers.

 

Your impactDevelop and implement the medical strategy and local Medical Affairs PlansLead, coach, and develop Medical ManagerDrive Medical Excellence, Launch Readiness, and strong customer relationship on eye levelBuild scientific partnerships with experts and organizationsShape Evidence Generation and publication strategy for Rare DiseasesRepresent Medical Affairs Rare in cross-functional and global teamsPromote a culture of ethics, DE&I, and modern leadershipOversee Symposia, Advisory Boards and scientific collaborationsMonitor and leverage Medical Insights for strategic decisionsEnsure compliance with SOPs, laws, and codes in all deliverables

 

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

Medical degree; advanced degree preferred.Deep scientific expertise and strategic mindset; able to translate complex data into patient and HCP value5+ years in Medical Affairs, including leadership roles.Proven expertise in strategic planning, evidence generation and Medical Education.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Demonstrated leadership in medical teams and matrix organizations.Strong cross-functional mindset and ability to inspire and empower othersOpenness to change and innovation, with the ability to think beyond boundariesFluent in German and English; deep understanding of regulatory requirements.
