Medical Laboratory Technician / Point-of-Care Coordinator – Chemistry - Full Time Days (St. Mary)
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** St. Mary Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our Chemistry Department. Schedule: Full-time, 8-hr shifts This role is responsible for providing accurate diagnostic and therapeutic test results with minimal supervision, utilizing appropriate laboratory equipment and adhering to departmental protocols. We are seeking a Point-of-Care coordinator to oversee and manage all aspects of point-of-care testing (POCT) across our facility. The POCC will ensure regulatory compliance, train and assess staff competency, monitor quality control, and serve as the liaison between the laboratory and clinical departments. **Key Responsibilities:** + Perform STAT and routine laboratory tests within established timeframes. + Collect and process specimens accurately and safely. + Utilize quality control measures and communicate critical values per policy. + Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation. + Document maintenance procedures and instrument malfunctions. + Monitor inventory and follow protocols for reordering supplies. + Collaborate with team members and adapt to emergency staffing needs. + Uphold safety, confidentiality, and infection control standards. + Manage POCT operations. + Train and certify clinical staff on POCT devices. + Maintain quality control, documentation, and compliance with CAP, CLIA and Joint Commission. + Oversee instrument performance, troubleshooting, and vendor relations **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in Med Tech or related field required. + ASCP certification preferred. + 2-3 years of clinical laboratory experience, POCT experience preferred. **We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including:** + Medical, Dental, & Vision Coverage + Retirement Savings Program + Paid Time Off + Tuition Reimbursement + Free Parking + And more! **Our Commitment** Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
