At Sanofi, we chase the miracles of science to improve people's lives. We are seeking a visionary leader to head our early Specialty Care pipeline, a strategic endeavor designed to strengthen the role of Medical in strategically shaping early asset, indication & portfolio evolution. 

The Medical Head of Early Pipeline will be responsible for pioneering transformative initiatives that leverage cutting-edge technologies, strategic partnerships, and innovative approaches to revolutionize early medical engagement and medical shaping of asset and portfolio development. This role will serve as the catalyst for innovation in the early medical space, working closely with R&D, Therapeutic Area heads, Business Development, and Market access to accelerate our pipeline and new product integrations and ensure medical insights and expertise embedded early in lifecycle management and pivotal to shaping our disease and assets strategies.

Main Responsibilities:

Leadership Requirements 

Strategic Vision & Leadership 

Develop and execute a comprehensive transformation strategy for Early Medical that aligns with Sanofi's broader R&D integration objectives 

Build and lead a high-performing, diverse team 

Create a culture of innovation, thoughtful risk-taking, and continuous improvement 

Develop talent pipelines to ensure access to cutting-edge skills and expertise 

Early Asset Shaping 

Drive strategic decision-making for early-stage asset development 

Balance scientific rigor with business objectives in asset evaluation 

Foster cross-functional collaboration to optimize asset development pathways 

Ensure alignment between early asset strategy and overall portfolio objectives 

Medical partner to cross-functional teams for transformation across medical value chain 

Drive competitive intelligence and support establish strategic partnerships with key academic institutions for Clinical Development 

Ensure shaping of clinical development programs to address US unmet Medical needs 

Ensure shaping of protocols to also meet local clinical practice and to support faster operational execution and patient centric strategy 

 

About You

Qualifications

Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) in life sciences, medicine, or related field 

15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry with progressive leadership roles in local and global Medical Affairs   

Minimum 5+ years of people management experience, including leading multidisciplinary teams 

Previous experience in Clinical Development and/or Medical Studies preferred 

Experience leading cross-functional teams 

Experience managing budgets and resource allocation for strategic initiatives 

Skills and Competencies

Visionary enterprise leadership with ability to translate complex concepts into actionable strategies 

Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to identify AI and tech-based opportunities and drive execution 

Strong business acumen with deep understanding of Medical and R&D operations 

Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence without direct authority 

Exceptional communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences 

Identifies lessons learned to build resilience and leverage best practices

The salary range for this position is:

$232,500.00 - $387,500.00

All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs. Additional benefits information can be found through the LINK.
