Medical Device Benefit Intake Specialist

We are seeking a Benefit Intake Specialist to support a growing medical device organization by managing the initial patient referral and benefits verification process. This role is a key liaison between patients, providers, and insurance payers, ensuring coverage requirements are met, authorizations are tracked, and documentation is complete to ensure timely access to therapy. The ideal candidate has strong healthcare intake or reimbursement experience, excels in customer service, and is comfortable navigating a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Receive, review, and process patient referrals and intake documentation
+ Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans
+ Communicate coverage details, financial responsibility, and next steps clearly to patients and providers
+ Track and follow up on prior authorizations, referrals, and missing documentation
+ Ensure accurate and timely data entry into CRM and case management systems
+ Partner cross‑functionally with reimbursement, clinical, operations, and intake teams to resolve issues and delays
+ Maintain compliance with insurance and internal documentation requirements
Required Qualifications (Must Haves)
+ Experience with referrals, authorizations, and customer service in a healthcare setting
+ Medical device industry experience
+ Working knowledge of insurance verification and benefits processes
+ Strong communication skills and patient‑focused mindset
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Haves)
+ DME experience
+ Salesforce or CRM experience
+ Experience working with healthcare systems, EMRs, or case management platforms
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ 2+ years of experience in benefits verification, patient intake, reimbursement support, or related healthcare roles
+ Working knowledge of commercial and government insurance plans
+ Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and follow‑up skills
+ Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams
Work Environment & Schedule
Hybrid schedule: Onsite Mondays and Fridays, remote Tuesday–Thursday
Start time between 7:30am – 8:30am, working 8‑hour days
Fast‑paced environment requiring flexibility, adaptability, and comfort working through ambiguity

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
