**Responsibilities** **Job Summary / Purpose** This position contributes to the mission of CHI Health by ensuring medical and pharmacy benefits are accurately provided and billed as well as management of patient and physician accounts receivable. This position works collaboratively with purchasing, patient care, ancillary and pharmacy services to ensure appropriate and timely notices to patients. **Essential Key Job Responsibilities** + _Communicate and discuss medical supplies/equipment needs with patients._ + _Answer any medical billing questions for patients._ + _Research insurance eligibility and coverage/benefits on patients and complete any necessary paperwork and/or submit clinical notes in a timely manner to ensure approval of claims._ + _Maneuver billing software to make updates to patient, insurance and inventory records._ + _Keep adequate records while adhering to HIPAA guidelines and regulations._ + _Professionally communicate with other members of CHI team as well as with internal and external providers._ + _Identify claims that have not been processed by either insurance or patient. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc). Knowledge of HCPC, ICD-10, HCFA a plus. Ability to perform non-complex mathematical calculations a must. **PREFERRED Qualifications** High school diploma or GED. A minimum of two years medical supplies and/or billing experience is desirable.
