Medical Customer Service Rep
Description We are looking for a dedicated Medical Customer Service Representative to join our team in Elk Grove, California. This is a long-term contract position requiring exceptional customer service skills and a strong ability to manage patient interactions in a fast-paced environment. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to the efficiency of medical office operations and positively impact patient care. Responsibilities: • Respond to inbound calls with professionalism, addressing patient inquiries and concerns efficiently. • Schedule patient appointments and manage changes in scheduling using electronic practice management systems. • Verify medical insurance information to ensure accurate billing and patient eligibility. • Assist patients with understanding billing statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues. • Perform reminder calls to confirm upcoming appointments and reduce no-show rates. • Maintain and update patient medical charts with precision and confidentiality. • Provide courteous and empathetic support to patients, fostering a positive experience. • Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with patients and healthcare professionals. • Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and resource management. • Operate standard office equipment and software to complete administrative tasks efficiently. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent is required. • At least six months of experience in an outpatient medical setting or a high-volume customer service role preferred. • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a focus on delivering excellent customer service. • Proficiency in keyboarding and the use of computer equipment, software, and standard office tools. • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic practice management systems is highly desirable. • Ability to make decisions that positively impact patient relationships and clinic efficiency. • Experience in patient scheduling, insurance verification, and medical billing is preferred. • Must report to the supervisor and work collaboratively without direct supervision.
