Medical Customer Service Rep
Description We are looking for a dedicated Medical Customer Service Representative to join our team in Sacramento, California. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a vital role in ensuring excellent patient interactions and efficient clinic operations. Responsibilities: • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries, concerns, and scheduling needs through inbound calls. • Verify medical insurance information to ensure accurate billing and patient records. • Assist with medical chart updates and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. • Schedule patient appointments and send reminder calls to ensure timely visits. • Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. • Operate electronic practice management systems and other standard office equipment efficiently. • Support billing processes by addressing patient inquiries and resolving minor discrepancies. • Collaborate with clinic staff to streamline workflows and enhance physician efficiency. • Maintain organized records and documentation to support clinic operations. • Uphold the clinic's reputation by delivering outstanding service and fostering positive patient relationships. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent education. • At least six months of experience in an outpatient medical setting or a high-volume customer service role. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues. • Proficiency in keyboarding and computer systems, including electronic practice management software. • Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to apply it effectively. • Organizational skills to manage scheduling, records, and patient interactions efficiently. • Experience using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and fax machines. • Previous call center or customer service experience is highly preferred.
