Medical Claims Processor
Job Title: Medical Claims Processor Location: Remote – Must reside in DC, MD, VA, WV, NC, PA, NJ, FL, NY, DE, or TX Placement: 3 month contract with potential to get extended based on productivity About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Claims Processor to join our team. In this role, you will review and adjudicate paper and electronic claims under direct supervision, ensuring accurate and timely processing in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Claims Processing (60%) + Examine and resolve non-adjudicated claims. + Identify key processing elements based on contracts, policies, and procedures. + Process product- or system-specific claims, calculate deductibles and maximums, and ensure timely payments. + Use automated systems to manage pending claims and ensure accurate completion. Research & Accuracy (25%) + Apply training materials, correspondence, and medical policies to ensure claim accuracy. + Collaborate with the Quality team and leadership for guidance on complex claims. + Participate in ongoing training and development. Performance Reporting (10%) + Complete daily productivity data for performance tracking and planning purposes. Collaboration (5%) + Work with multiple departments to resolve issues and answer basic processing questions. Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED + 3+ years of experience in claims processing, billing, and medical terminology + Strong MS Office skills Skills & Competencies + Strong analytical and reading comprehension skills + Ability to follow detailed instructions + Basic written and verbal communication skills + Proficiency in navigating computer applications + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities + Excellent customer service skills, even in challenging situations Additional Requirements + Must immediately disclose any debarment or exclusion from Federal healthcare programs. + Must be able to meet deadlines and manage multiple service demands. + Must reside in one of the following states: DC, MD, VA, WV, NC, PA, NJ, FL, NY, DE, or TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.16 - $23.16/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
