We are looking for a dedicated Medical Asst like you to be a part of our team. **Job Summary and Qualifications** In this role you will: + Schedules patient appointments according to facility standards; routinely scans in advance schedules to insure that there are no conflicts, all reports have been received, patients and/or referring physicians offices are contacted and authorization has been obtained. + Contacts patients at least one week in advance to confirm appointments, insure demographic information is correct. + Notes in chart pertinent patient schedule compliance information for physician and clinical staff (expired, refused to come, ect.) + Obtains signatures upon patient visit; insures that there is compliance with privacy rules, release of medical records, ect. + Provides answers to questions in a professional manner. + Obtains and verifies insurance information, insures that authorization for radiation services is obtained, files all insurance data in medical record for future reference + Collects deductible and co-payment amounts + Routes patients to immediate supervisor when indicated + Acts as an advocate and assists patient with insurance issues to ensure collection of outstanding accounts **What qualifications you will need:** + High School Graduate / GED + 3 years General Medical Office experience preferred + Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date The Cancer Center of HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is dedicated to helping patients accomplish one goal.
