ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children's Hospital (ECH) and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio are excited to announce the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, a mobile medical clinic designed to provide pediatric primary care services to patients in northwest Ohio.
The Care Mobile will provide children and families access to a wide range of pediatric services and educational tools with the goal of connecting patients back to a primary care provider in the community. The services provided by the mobile clinic will include immunizations, well checks, education, and hearing/vision screenings for children up to 18 years old, but with a focus on infants to six years of age. The Care Mobile includes two patient exam rooms, a waiting area and a medical records area. It will be staffed and operated by medical professionals from ECH.
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant will function as a member of the clinic staff. They will assist the care team in routine and specialized patient care tasks, maintain supplies, support the practice by utilizing his/her clinical knowledge and expertise in a clerical capacity such as registration, scheduling, data management and patient calls. Other duties include, but are not limited to:
Performs basic patient care preparation, preliminary patient observations and documentation to facilitate the flow of patients in the clinic setting
Communication/documentation of all patient and office information accurately and completely to the appropriate parties and charts following HIPAA guidelines
Accurate patient registration and scheduling per clinic guidelines including completion of clinic work queues
Effective use of supplies including inventory, ordering, and restocking
Assists the mobile care unit operation, as well as maintenance oversight of the program’s mobile health vehicle
Assists other staff with “end of day” tasks. Maintains maintenance log.
Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent clinical experience
Must have MA certificate or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire
CPR required
1-2 years of MA experience, highly preferred
Computer skills and Communication skills
Ability to keep patient information confidential as required by HIPAA and other research related requirements
