Astria Health is seeking a Medical Assistant Program Coordinator to join our team! This position is home based at the Ahtanum Clinic.

As the Medical Assistant Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for supervision of the medical assistant team including hiring of staff, supporting performance achievement, conducting training and clinical practice review of medical assistants. The MA Program Coordinator also provides support of medical assistant schedule coverage and day to day support, identifying and helping to resolve staff and operational issues as related to clinical practice. You will:
Functions as subject matter expert for clinical practice, workflows and role responsibilities performing Medical Assistant (MA) role as neededAct as clinic operational lead for systemwide programs that impact the Medical Assistant role, including but not limited to; POCT/CLIA, Immunization Program, Phlebotomy, and Safety. Serves as the clinic liaison with Clinical Managers and ancillary hospital departments.Act as a clinical expert and monitor clinical services based on core competencies, policy and procedure within the scope of a Certified Medical Assistant.In collaboration with Hospital Educator(s) and the Clinic Quality Coordinator, designs, organizes and runs an Annual Competency/Skills Fair for CMAs throughout the clinic system.In collaboration with the Clinic Quality Coordinator and Clinic Manager III, designs additional training initiatives based on findings through Monthly Chart Audits for Completion as well as Quality Audits conducted for quality improvement programs (ex: Accountable Care Organization, etc.)Provide clinical coverage as needed.In collaboration with the leadership team, support and/or lead process improvement, operational efficiency, quality initiatives, clinical meetings, and huddlesOther duties as assigned.Collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.Adheres to the core values and standards of the organization.
WA State Certified Medical Assistant licenseBCLS CertificationFive or more years of direct work experience in healthcare.Two or more years of direct supervisory experience.Oral and written fluency in the English language.
