AND one of the followingCompleted a Medical Assistant ProgramORCertificationRegistration as an MAOR years of experience as a Medical Assistant in lieu of being a Registered MAor attendedan MA ProgramOR years of experience as a Nurse Assistant or a Certified Nurse Assistant with at least year of experienceEXPERIENCEPrevious experience working in a medical facility is preferredCOMPETENCIESComfortable working in a fast pacedconfidential medical environmentMust be team oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish and maintain a safe work environmentLifting physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time to occasionally stoop bend kneel crouch reach and twist to lift care push and or pull light to moderate amounts of weight to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordinationAbility to maintain working relationships and interact with patients and employees on a daily basisReliable transportation and the ability to float to other offices when neededStrong computer and keyboarding sample medication dispensed in the medical recordProvide oversight to vaccine program following StateguidelinesChecks and restocks rooms with necessary supplies and ensures exam rooms are prepared for the dayKeep inventoryof medical supplies and report them to OfficeCoordinatorPractice Manager for reorderReport malfunction of medical equipment to OfficeCoordinatorPractice ManagerProperly cleans and sterilizes equipment and prepares surgical trays as indicated by the physicianAssist physicianpractitioner with office surgical proceduresPerform EKG and Spirometry as orderedReport lab results to patients and follow through with any physician instructions to patients for follow upor change in medication including scheduling appointment when necessaryAnswer requests from pharmacies for prescription refills per office protocolPrepare specimens and paperwork to submit to referencelab for testing as directed myphysician or midlevelInstruct patients on how to properly collect sterile urine specimensOn a monthly basischeck all medications including samples and appropriately dispose of expired medicationsObtain precertificationsfor tests procedures treatments medications and hospitalizations as neededSchedule and arrange referrals and outside testing for patients as directed by physicianMaintain workarea in a neat and organized mannerMaintain appropriate documentation of compliance with CLIA regulationsPrimary Care staff participates in Patient Centered Medical Home Care Team collaborationsMay be required to float to other offices andor perform other duties as
