Job Summary
Summary:Multi-disciplinary clinic
- Crossed trained at the front desk to assist with phone calls, appointment scheduling, clinical messaging, check in, check out and other front desk duties
- Reviews provider schedules daily and weekly to plan patient care and formulates solutions for potential problems
- Greets patient in waiting room and escorts to triage room and exam room
- Instructs patient how to prepare for the physician or nurse practitioner (assisting as necessary)
- Assists with training and orientation of new Medical Assistant staff
- Cleans and prepares room for next patient
- Provides care appropriate to age group of patients in practice setting and documents data per practice protocols
- Assures exam, treatment and clean utility rooms are properly stocked and equipped
- Assures GI is adequately stocked with Infant Formula and tracks Formula arrival and dispensing.
- Requests clinical supplies and practices cost effectiveness measures
Other duties:
- Functions as in integral part of the patient care team
- Interacts in a professional, cooperative way with other practice staff
- Accepts delegate responsibilities in a positive manner
- Offers help to others in the practice when not busy
- Engages in constructive problem solving with others in the practice as problems arise
Tests specimens as necessary:
- EKG and transmit EKG
- Stool for occult blood
- Urine Collection (perform UAs and Centrifuge)
- Skin Testing
- Performs phlebotomy when applicable
