Job Overview:
The Cancer Center Medical Assistant will assist with daily exams and biopsies. Performs office phlebotomy. Takes vital signs on all patients, utilizes the nursing proves to effectively assess the needs of the patient. Excellent communication skills, leadership, time management and problem-solving skills are required. Assist patients in a timely manner at all times and interact with fellow team members with respect.

High School Diploma or GED Completion of a formal Nurse Assistant training program or Certified Medical AssistantPreferred:
At least 6 months of experience Venipuncture/EKG Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systemsCertifications and Licenses Required:

Performs venipunctures and EKGsAssess patient pain level at each visitWill stock and clean rooms on a daily basisDelivers care to patients with empathy and care manner and interacts well with patients and family membersProactive in informing appropriate personnel of patient issues and actively obtaining information if not readily availableAssists with patient throughput and performs procedures with ease and understands the patients needsAppropriately uses barcode scanner for patient specimens, and performs proper labeling of patient s specimens Can obtain patient medical records with no assistance. Performs indexing and accurately responds to error resolutions in Onbase and SolarityCan work independently when asked and perform tasks in a timely mannerAccepts role as preceptor to new employeesResponds to Epic chats/in basket in a timely mannerVolunteers at RWJBH or Cancer Center community event to support the hospital and/or service line growthUnderstands and adheres to RWJBH compliance standards as they appear in RWJBH corporate compliance policy, code of conduct and conflict of interest policy.
