at every level within the organizationThe Medical Assistant will provide basic administrative clerical and clinical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education and practice The Medical Assistant experiences continued training and is expected to consistently perform all of their responsibilities as directed by their supervisors and the Practice Providers to maintain both staff and patient safety as well as the highest quality patient careResponsibilities includeProvides direct patient care within the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant including but not limited to vitals outside medication reconciliation outside allergy reconciliation screenings patient history and virtual healthConducts assistance with EKGs placing heart monitors and device connection followed by quality control and documentation of workPrepares patients andassists providers with in house procedures and exams as neededProvides administrative support including but not limited to scheduling chart preparation referrals check inout prior authorizations and transportation facilitationAccurately documents and communicates interventions and measurements and communicates appropriately to the health care providerAdministration duties include controlling the front desk patient services verifying insurance and building Provider Templates utilizing EPIC as well as maintenanceManaging the Lead APRN schedule along with other scheduling responsibilitiesAssists in the maintenance of equipment supplies and a clean and safe work environment including checking equipment and supplies for expiration dates electrical safety tags intactness and usabilityCleans equipment and stocks rooms carts cabinets as assignedManaging inventory including equipment and medical supplies needing to be replaced or repaired to the practice managerCross covering with occasional travel to satellite clinics in the Hartford region may be requiredWork whereevery Diploma or equivalent education GED or Technical School may be consideredAmerican Heart Association BLS CPR certificationDiploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or an active CT CNA EMT Paramedic Certification or relative experience as outlinedAt least one year of experience in direct patient care acute or ambulatory space may be consideredWe take great care of careersWith locations
