Job Summary / PurposeUnder the direction of the health care provider, the medical assistant participates in delivery of patient care that promotes the well-being and safety of all patients.Essential FunctionsPerforms general patient care following established clinic workflows.Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reason for visit.Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.Cleans and sterilizes instruments.Ensures patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly.Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns timely and appropriately.Ensures safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required and necessary action taken if indicated.The job summary and responsibilities listed above are designed to indicate the general nature of the work performed within this job. Job Requirements
Education and Experience
Graduate of a Medical assisting program accredited by Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)Programs accredited by other credentialed bodies may be considered if program included formal externshipLicensure and Certifications
Medication Aide: NE (MEDAID:NE) N/A within 90 Days Required andBasic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)Where You'll WorkSince our doors opened in 1968 CHI Health Plainview has been providing patients of Pierce Antelope and Knox counties in Nebraska with exceptional care and quality outcomes. We are a 15-bed critical access facility with inpatient and outpatient services.
