Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant, you'll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team.

Every day, you will take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts, ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site.

Meets annual competency requirement prior to evaluation date.Prepares examination rooms for the provision of patient care according to service types. Orders and maintains supplies for the examination rooms: cleans and disinfects exam room, table and equipment. Maintains expiration dates of supplies, and equipments. Daily monitors and records refrigerator temperature on appropriate log. Maintains abnormal lab results, and pap logs.Assists providers in prioritizing which patients are to be seen: emergency, urgent and routine as well as phone triage. Coordinates flow of patients through the Back Office.Takes vital signs: TPR, BP, height and weight and documents in the patient's medical record. Takes patient histories, medication intake/discharge list, clinical complaints and documents in the patient's medical record. Collects urine dipstick, labs, and places PPD as ordered, and records results in patient charts and appropriate logs including daily/monthly Quality Control (POCT-Point of care testing) log. Assures laboratory results are available, reviewed and signed by the mid-level provider or physician in a timely manner.Assists the physician and mid-level providers with pelvic examinations and minor procedures. Assists client in problem solving and scheduling of appointments and classes as needed. Conducts follow-up phone calls with client and documents accordingly. Maintains the integrity and the orderliness of the charts/files.
Job Requirements
Successful completion from an accredited MA program and a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital, clinic or physician's office required.Experience with obtaining treatment authorization requests, verification of insurance status, and refilling prescription requests.Phlebotomist: CA-CPTBasic Life Support - CPRExperience with computerized software programs, such as Meditech, Microsoft Office programsWhere You'll Work
