Location: Helena VA Sleep Center

Type: Contract Position

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)

📄 Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to support quality control and coordination of scheduling and patient communications. This role works closely with the Lead Scheduler and plays a key part in coordinating Veteran care with community providers and managing patient information systems.

📌 Responsibilities🗓️ Ensure quality control and coordination of scheduling activities👩‍⚕️ Serve as the designated MSA scheduler/receptionist📞 Communicate with patients and providers in a timely, professional manner🏥 Coordinate and authorize Veteran care with external providers📚 Communicate VA Community Care rules to internal medical teams🧾 Validate and update patient demographic information💻 Integrate health and admin data into CPRS and VistA🔄 Process consults using HSRM, PPMS, and other systems☎️ Screen and respond to phone calls courteously📋 Respond to inquiries regarding service delivery🧠 Use Microsoft Office tools daily (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)🔍 Track appointments and manage pre/post-visit contacts🌟 Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff🛠️ Essential Skills🎓 High School diploma or GED🧠 Basic medical terminology knowledge💻 Basic computer skills⌨️ Typing speed of 50+ WPM🗂️ Experience with EMRs and electronic health records🤝 Strong care coordination and medical reception skills📊 Proficiency in Microsoft Office🌟 Preferred Qualifications🗣️ Oral and written proficiency in English🧠 Experience with VA systems:VistACPRSHSRMPPMSEPSICTMCisco Call CenterICBISS/VSE🏥 Work EnvironmentWork onsite at the Helena VA Sleep Center, supporting Veteran care in a collaborative setting. This role involves significant use of computers and phones, and interaction with a diverse healthcare team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.02 - $21.02/hr.
