Position Overview: As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play a key role in ensuring quality control and coordination within our scheduling department. You’ll manage appointments, communicate with providers, and maintain accurate patient records.
Schedule – 8am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week) / Monday through Friday. This position is starting on a 1 year contract, with 1 year optional to extend.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule appointments and coordinate care with community providers.Communicate with internal medical staff regarding VA Community Care processes.Maintain and update patient records using CPRS, VistA, and other systems.Provide courteous and prompt phone support.Use Microsoft Office tools for daily tasks.Deliver excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
Required Skills:
High School diploma or GED.Basic medical terminology and computer skills.Typing speed of 50+ WPM.Experience with EMRs and medical reception.Strong care coordination abilities.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with VistA, HSRM, EPSI, CPRS, PPMS, CTM, Cisco Call Center, and other VA systems.Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Work Environment: This role is located at the Helena VA Sleep Center, working alongside a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.02 - $21.02/hr.
