The Medical Assistant provides a basic level of patient care and treatments, assisting with obtaining vital signs, documenting chief complaints, and all actions taken. The role involves alerting physicians of any problems, concerns, or abnormalities and assisting with obtaining patient history. You will work closely with physicians, residents, and licensed nursing personnel, setting up exam/procedure rooms, obtaining lab specimens, and completing requisitions accurately. The Medical Assistant II functions more independently, coordinating the workflow of Medical Assistants when necessary, obtaining authorizations for referrals, and conducting front desk duties such as registration, check-in, and scheduling of patients.

Essential SkillsMedical assisting experience.Proficiency with electronic health records.Ability to work with one provider to keep them on schedule.Experience working with pediatric patients.Experience rooming 15-20 patients per day.Patient care and intake skills.
Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or G.E.D.Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or completion of a U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program.Medical Assistant diploma (certification/registration preferred but not required).3+ years of Medical Assistant experience.American Heart Association BLS card.Experience with computer programs used for patient check-in and scheduling.
Work Environment
The position involves a 4/10 schedule with 10-hour shifts, with Tuesdays off. The working hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7 am to 6 pm. The work environment is a family practice clinic, non-hospital setting, alongside three other Medical Assistants on site.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
