Job Description
As a Medical Assistant, you will coordinate patient care and flow within the clinic. Your role involves escorting patients to exam rooms, obtaining brief histories and vital signs, and entering data into the electronic health record system (EHR). You will update records for clinician review, assist clinicians with procedures, and perform patient-specific tasks as requested.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate patient care and flow within the clinic.Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain brief histories and vital signs.Enter and update data in the electronic health record system (EHR).Assist clinicians with procedures and prepare patients for exams.Complete consent forms and provide patient education and referral materials.Clean and stock exam rooms before, during, and after clinic sessions.Perform front desk duties such as answering calls and appointment scheduling.Review upcoming schedules to ensure necessary supplies are in stock.Ensure e-prescribing tasks and all assigned tasks in EHR are completed accurately.Review EHR tasks at the end of visits and assist clinicians with pending tasks.Maintain EHR records accurately following clinic policies and procedures.Assist in the laboratory as necessary.Complete tasks in the case management system daily.Enroll patients in the Patient Assistance Program.Essential SkillsProficiency in medical assisting and electronic health record systems.Experience in healthcare support and customer service.Ability to handle appointment scheduling and patient calls.Knowledge of taking vitals and assisting with pediatric care.Additional Skills & QualificationsOpen to entry-level candidates.Medical Assistant certification (MA cert).CPR certification.High school diploma or GED.Work Environment
The role is based onsite at the clinic, which is a fast-paced environment where you may see between 20 to 40 patients daily depending on the site. A team-oriented mindset is essential. The primary demographic served is Spanish-speaking patients.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Barbara, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
