Job Title: Medical Assistant
Job Description

The Medical Assistant will support a local community clinic by ensuring smooth clinical operations and providing excellent patient care. This role is critical in enhancing patient experiences and contributing to the clinic's mission of providing healthcare to underserved communities.

ResponsibilitiesRoom patients and check vital signs.Update electronic medical records accurately.Assist the physician with administrative tasks such as scheduling and verifying insurance.Record patient information meticulously.Sterilize and clean examination rooms.Stock and maintain inventory of medical supplies.Perform blood draws and phlebotomy.Manage appointment scheduling using Epic software.Provide care to patients across a wide age range.Handle interactions with unruly patients professionally.Essential SkillsProficiency in medical assisting and patient care.Strong customer service skills.Knowledge of medical terminology.Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.Experience in back-office medical assisting.Phlebotomy skills.Experience with Epic software.Additional Skills & QualificationsMA Certification.Ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population.Work Environment

The position is based in a clinic setting located on 14th St, near Lake Merritt. The work hours are from 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM. The clinic is committed to uplifting the community by providing essential healthcare services to those in need.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
