Job Overview:
The Cardiac Service Medical Assistant, is responsible for working alongside Physicians, NP s and PA s for a variety of patient care, technical and clerical related functions. The Medical Assistant is responsible for the delivery of quality patient services, office communication, information storage, clinic patient flow by assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of health care services. They will assist with vital signs, weight-ins, preparations for examinations and/or treatment and will provide secretarial and receptionist support. This role contributes to the successful operation of the work area and functions in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Required:
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent GEDAt least six 6 months to one 1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMust have a Nationally Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant certification through AMT, NHA, NCCT, AAA, NCMA, AMCA or NAHP or qualify and obtain certification within 60 days of hire
BLS required
Preferred:
Previous medical assistant experience or background preferredBachelor Degree from a recognized college or secretarial school
Experience preferred with patient scheduling; EPIC a plus
