Somerset Health Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Surgical Outpatient Office. This full-time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about providing high-quality care and support to patients. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in both clinical and administrative functions, ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and a welcoming experience for all who walk through our doors.

 *Final candidate will be placed in appropriate title and compensation based on individual experience and education. 

Responsibilities:

Organize daily schedules and patient flow to ensure timely care. Escort patients to exam/procedure rooms and assist with mobility, dressing, and specimen collection. Collect patient history, vital signs, and perform screenings per provider guidelines. Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one lab procedures. Assist physicians with procedures and document patient information in the medical record. Administer injectable medications and vaccines under physician supervision. Prepare and clean exam rooms and equipment according to infection control protocols. Answer phone calls and provide patient education and support as directed. Schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage patient charts and documentation. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and PA Department of Health regulations.
