Medical Assistant, Senior
Join our team of Life Changers! UPMC is hiring a Full-Time, Medical Assistant, Senior to support the offices in Lititz and Lancaster. Travel will be required 50/50 between the two offices. Manager will discuss further during the interview. Individuals with prior Ob/gyn experience will be given priority along with those that completed Medical Assistant training. Hours for this position are Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm No holidays or weekends! May be required to work 1 evening per month. The salary for this position is between $18.49-$27.76/hr. This position qualifies for a $1500.00 sign-on bonus with 1-year work commitment! **Responsibilities:** + Check schedules and organizing patient flow. + Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc. + Collect patient information/history; taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines. + Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance. + Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations. + Prepare and clean patient, exam, and procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control. + Manage inventory of supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms. + Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health). + Comply with all UPMC Health System policies and procedures. + Perform phlebotomy, EKG's, and level one labs. + Perform clinic procedures according to policy and procedure. + Answering calls and providing pertinent information including patient education as directed. + Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc. + Complete forms/requisitions as needed. + Schedule appointments. + Prepare and managing charts to ensure information completed and filed appropriately. + Other front office responsibilities, as required. + Under the direction and supervision of a physician, administer injectable medication and vaccines when appropriate. Medical Assistant, Senior: + High school diploma or equivalent is required. + Successful completion of Medical Assistant Program or equivalent hospital program (LPN/RN/EMT) + OR successful completion of certification examination (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT or NHA) + OR at least 1-year prior patient care experience required. + Must be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in three practice category specific tasks + Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** In lieu of the MAS, relevant bachelor's degree accepted. + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) + Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal + Act 33 with renewal + Act 34 with renewal + Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal **UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran**
