Medical Affairs - Strategic External Partnerships Lead Oncology

**The Position**
In this strategic Medical Affairs role, you will lead market development initiatives that shape clinical adoption, support healthcare professional education, and prepare the market for successful product launches. A core responsibility is to identify and optimize external partnerships with clinical research networks, academic institutions, and healthcare organizations to accelerate evidence generation and maximize patient impact. Collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, commercial, regulatory, and regional affiliates, you will ensure medical insights and patient needs are embedded into early asset strategy and global planning.
**Tasks & responsibilities**
+ Proactively identify, evaluate, and engage with key external stakeholders—including academic institutions, clinical research networks, and healthcare organizations—to establish impactful partnerships that support evidence generation and accelerate clinical trial execution.
+ Oversee the identification and onboarding of high-potential clinical trial collaborators in alignment with the Integrated Asset Evidence Plan, ensuring strategic fit with therapeutic area priorities and geographic needs.
+ Champion early identification of pipeline assets or indications requiring market shaping. Conduct comprehensive landscape assessments and implement tailored strategies to influence clinical and policy environments.
+ Design and drive brand-specific market development programs to enhance HCP education, clinical adoption, and launch readiness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the planning and execution of evidence generation activities in alignment with strategic imperatives.
+ Partner with the publication manager to support publication planning and development of high-quality scientific content. Ensure alignment with the overarching medical strategy and facilitate impactful data dissemination.
+ Actively contribute to brand strategy development by integrating medical insights with commercial objectives, fostering cross-functional alignment and supporting successful product positioning.
**Requirements**
+ Hold an MD or PhD with comprehensive medical affairs background, a solid foundation in clinical drug development, and extensive experience in both international and country-level roles within the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in the US
+ Bring expertise in fostering external partnerships or driving market development initiatives
+ Leverage a strong background in Oncology, with in-depth knowledge of the therapeutic landscape and the ability to adapt to evolving treatment paradigms
+ Demonstrate a track record of success in planning, conducting, and publishing scientific and clinical research, including expertise in epidemiology and real-world evidence (RWE) generation tailored for diverse audiences
+ Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with global key opinion leaders (KOLs), international societies, and other external stakeholders to drive influence and collaboration
+ Exhibit a strong customer and patient-centric mindset, translating insights into actionable strategies that align with organizational goals
+ Combine an analytical mindset with data interpretation skills to identify treatment gaps, inform strategic decisions, and enhance care delivery
+ Embrace ambiguity with an entrepreneurial spirit, identifying and evaluating emerging opportunities across new indications, geographies, and customer segments
