**The Position**
Lead the Future of Medical Affairs for the Most Important Cardio-Renal-Metabolic Asset
Are you ready to take on a transformative leadership role at the forefront of the Cardio-Renal-Metabolic space? We are seeking a visionary leader to guide the medical affairs strategy for Jardiance, the most important asset in the industry today and into the future. In this role, you will lead a large, multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals across various specialty areas, driving innovation and excellence in medical affairs.
As the leader in this position, you will be accountable for developing and executing a competitive, externally-focused medical affairs strategy, plans, and tactics for Jardiance across all its indications and customer groups. You will provide strategic input to the overarching asset strategy while ensuring alignment with therapeutic area priorities and global objectives.
This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including the development and continuous evolution of a competitive and integrated Asset Evidence Plan (AEP), the creation of holistic stakeholder engagement plans tailored to key countries, and the management and development of a high-performing medical affairs team. You will also play a critical role in evolving the mindset and skillset of the team to align with the rapidly changing landscape and industry expectations.

**Tasks & responsibilities**
+ Define the medical affairs strategy, objectives, and tactics for Jardiance within the Cardio-Renal-Metabolic field in collaboration with key functions, geographies, and the cross-TA Medical Affairs team, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical requirements.
+ Lead and develop a high-performing medical affairs team, including colleagues in Real-World Evidence (RWE), Scientific Relations, and Medical Affairs, fostering a culture of trust, collaboration, and psychological safety while proactively managing team growth and turnover.
+ Supervise and partner with cross-functional global and key country colleagues to prepare for and approve brand-focused core deliverables with an external focus, prioritizing the needs of US stakeholders among focus markets.
+ Lead the development and implementation of a differentiated evidence strategy and Asset Evidence Plan (AEP) to maximize brand success and support lifecycle management by aligning evidence generation with asset priorities.
+ Lead interactions with external stakeholders across the globe in partnership with local, cross-functional, and brand teams, ensuring medical affairs deliverables address the needs of diverse stakeholders in key countries and align with global and local priorities.
+ Represent the brand and address the needs of BI leadership and Alliance partners, executing on strategic and tactical priorities for the brand.
**Requirements**
+ Expertise in advanced medical affairs (externally-focused and competitive medical affairs strategies), advanced scientific affairs, RWE, health authority interactions, market development, advanced brand-specific disease and therapeutic area knowledge, and advanced knowledge and/or experience in the lifecycle stages of a medicinal product
+ Comprehensive medical (incl. medical affairs) and scientific experience in pharmaceutical or related industry in specific brand, therapeutic and disease area and long term experience with medical and strategic responsibility in the international and country setting (US experience preferred)
+ Proven ability to manage and lead large teams, mentor and develop talent
+ Ability to develop, synthesize plans and execute on evidence needs of a Brand; experience in partnering with US and/or EU healthcare systems to co-design and co-execute evidence generation
+ Sound medical and scientific leadership to drive high-priority projects in brand disease area in collaboration with global matrix teams, regional, and country counterparts and external partners
+ Strong track record of collaboration with external expert community, regulatory authorities, international societies, patient advocacy groups, healthcare systems and other relevant stakeholders
+ Executive presence, excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, as well as presentation and facilitation skills for leadership interactions at BI and Alliance level
