Description
We are looking for a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team in Santa Cruz, California. In this Contract-to-Permanent role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of administrative tasks in a healthcare environment while providing excellent service to patients and staff. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and bilingual proficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Manage patient scheduling, appointments, and follow-ups to ensure seamless operations.
• Handle inbound calls, providing accurate information and assistance to patients and healthcare providers.
• Maintain and update electronic medical records (EHR) with precision and attention to detail.
• Process billing functions and claims administration while adhering to compliance standards.
• Assist in the preparation of charts, graphs, and other clinical documentation.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to support trial operations and administrative needs.
• Utilize Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe for day-to-day tasks.
• Ensure the front desk area is organized and welcoming to patients.
• Monitor inventory levels of office supplies and coordinate replenishments as needed.
• Uphold business casual or scrubs dress code while maintaining a meticulous demeanor.
Requirements • Proficiency in more than one language is required to communicate effectively with a diverse patient base.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or high-scale retail/hospitality environment.
• Strong multitasking abilities and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe) and familiarity with EHR systems.
• High school diploma or equivalent education required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients and staff.
• Ability to work onsite in Santa Cruz, California during standard business hours.
• Knowledge of ADP, Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, or similar software is a plus. TalentMatch®
