Medical Administrative Assistant
Description Medical Administrative Assistant Purpose and Objective : Act as liaison between proposed insured(s), underwriters, general agents, and vendors to facilitate the underwriting and new business process for each application by obtaining any outstanding requirements needed. Day to Day: After medical interview is conducted from the interviewer side will review life insurance application to make sure data is correct and correlates what's in system with application and and interviewer notes. Will put the case together to be escalated for review. Will use different platforms to perform data entry tasks to make sure info is accurate and add notes where needed for proper processing. App Assist case manager temps may be cross trained on App Assist Interviewer side as well depending on needs (must be flexible) see below for quick reference of INTERVIEWER SIDE: QUICK OVERVIEW OF PROCESS FOR UNDERSTANDING 2 PART PROCESS IN APP ASSIST DEPARTMENT: (THE APP ASSIST CASE MANAGER TEMPS WILL GO THROUGH MORE OF THE PROCESSING PAPERWORK PART AND CROSS REFERENCING INFORMATION GATHERED FROM MEDICAL INTERVIEWERS SIDE) Skills Medical, Customer service, Receptionist, Administrative assistant, Typing, Phone customer service Top Skills Details Medical Additional Skills & Qualifications Best VS Average: someone with call center in a medical/healthcare/insurance industry vs someone with administrative/office experience in insurance/healthcare/medical field 1. medical office, medical office receptionist, medical claims, RECENT medical schooling 2. STRONG COMPUTER SKILLS ( will be navigating through 3 different systems, NOT just data entry) 3. Excellent time management, interpersonal and communication skills. 4. Detail oriented and high tolerance for repetitive tasks. 5. Customer Service BG ( will be on the phone at times ) 6. A high tolerance for repetitive tasks 7. Good verbal and written communication 8. Ability to work independently and within a team in a multi-task environment. 9. MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY (Successful backgrounds>schooling,transcriptionists,nurses who want change of pace,medical assistants, medical office) --MULTI TASK (Being able to stay organized as they work through multiple applications) -- ATTENTION TO DETAIL (this person picks up after the interviewer is done, will review the client file and compare the application with interviewer notes to make sure data is correct) --INDEPENDENT WORK ETHIC --will not be micromanaged since mostly will be remote Companies to pull from: State farm (medical claims dept) , Frederick Memorial Hospital, MMI, Community Radiology, Abeo, Urgent Care Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Frederick, MD.
