Medical Facilities of America is seeking a detail-oriented Medicaid Specialist to join our team in our Lakewood, NJ office. This role is essential in guiding residents and their families through the Medicaid application and renewal process, while supporting the facility’s financial operations.
What you'll do:Manage and track Medicaid applications from submission to approval.
Communicate regularly with residents, families, caseworkers, and facility staff about application status and needed documentation.
Proactively follow up with DSS/Medicaid caseworkers to prevent delays.
Identify and resolve issues such as spenddowns, gifting, or missing paperwork.
Maintain accurate records and update internal tracking systems.
Collaborate with the billing and admissions teams to coordinate resident benefits and account information.
Qualifications:Prior experience with Medicaid eligibility and case management is preferred.
Solid understanding of Medicaid rules, application processes, and spenddown requirements.
Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple cases, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort using online portals.
