TheMedicaid Long-Term Care (LTC) Analyst 1plays a critical role in ensuring individuals receive the care and services they need — whether in a facility or at home. This position is responsible for determiningfinancial and medical eligibilityfor Medicaid’s Long-Term Care programs, interpreting complex policy, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely decisions that impact people’s lives. Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience in eligibility determinations for long-term care programs; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: · Evaluate both financial and medical documentation to determine eligibility for institutional and home-based long-term care services · Interpret and apply complex federal, state, and agency policies · Review application packets for completeness and timeliness before authorization · Investigate discrepancies and resolve inconsistencies in documentation from providers, agencies, and applicants · Communicate with applicants, family members, attorneys, advocacy groups, and providers · Consider special circumstances such as hardship cases and penalty periods during decision-making.
