We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Media Operations and Governance Lead/Manager to oversee the efficient management and optimization of media operations while ensuring robust financial governance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong media background with a deep understanding of media planning, buying, and execution, as well as financial acumen to manage budgets, analyze discrepancies, and implement best practices. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, agency partners, and internal stakeholders, to drive operational excellence and strategic alignment.

Role and Responsibilities

Media Operations Management:Oversee the end-to-end media operations process, ensuring seamless execution of media plans and tactics.Collaborate with media planners, buyers, and agency partners to optimize media spend and deliverables.Monitor media performance metrics and provide actionable insights to improve campaign effectiveness.Financial Governance:Manage the $700M+ Media budget, ensuring accurate forecasting, tracking, and reporting of expenditures.Conduct regular audits of media invoices, ATBs (Actual-to-Budget), and financial documents to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.Implement and enforce best practices for billing, budget oversight, and financial governance to minimize variances and improve accuracy.Process Improvement:Develop and maintain standardized processes for media operations, including billing, reporting, and reconciliation.Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and propose solutions to streamline operations and enhance productivity.Lead initiatives to fast-track onboarding and upskilling of the Media team to address capacity constraints.Stakeholder Collaboration:Serve as the primary point of contact for finance teams regarding media-related financial inquiries and discrepancies.Work closely with agency partners to ensure alignment on billing methodologies, deliverables, and financial expectations.Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide updates on media operations, financial performance, and improvement initiatives.Discrepancy Resolution:Investigate and resolve discrepancies in media billing and ATBs, providing clear explanations and actionable recommendations.Implement early warning systems (e.g., Red Amber Alerts) to flag significant variances and enable timely corrective actions.Build and Develop Best Practices for Ways of WorkingDevelop training manuals, onboarding initiatives, as well as manage training initiatives for staff development and growthFoster a collaborative and high-performing team culture focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related field. Advanced degree or certifications in finance or media management are a plus.Experience:Minimum 7+ years of experience in media operations, planning, or buying, with a proven track record of managing large-scale media budgets.Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management, forecasting, and financial analysis.Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations, resolve discrepancies, and implement process improvements.Skills:Proficiency in media planning tools (e.g., Strata, Mediaocean) and financial software (e.g., Excel, SAP).Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance in financial governance.Knowledge:In-depth understanding of media channels (linear TV, digital, OOH) and industry-standard methodologies for billing and ATB allocations.Familiarity with agency partnerships and best practices for media governance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume media environment with limited staff capacity.Knowledge of digital media trends and their impact on budgeting and billing methodologies.Leadership experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
