Job Details A medical records coordinator is a healthcare professional responsible for managing and maintaining patient medical records. They ensure that patient information is accurately recorded, organized, and stored, either in physical files or electronic health record (EHR) systems. This role also involves ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations like HIPPA. Key Responsibilities of a Medical Records Coordinator: Compiling, processing, and maintaining patient medical records, including both physical and electronic files. Ensuring accurate and timely entry of patient information into the record system. Maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Responding to requests for medical records from authorized personnel, such as healthcare providers, insurance companies, and legal entities. Ensuring that medical records are organized and easily accessible for authorized users. May be involved in the maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic health record (EHR) systems. Working with healthcare providers and other staff to ensure accurate and complete medical records. Reviewing records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards and procedures. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
