Job Description Our client is seeking an engineer to come in and program machine controllers to meet all customer specifications, incorporating safety considerations and operating efficiently using minimum amount of engineering time (using existing designs where possible). Will be working with Siemens and Allen Bradley and will have to design component layouts to meet all applicable specifications: pneumatics, hydraulics, coolant and lubrication. + Engineering team gets to work on new and exciting projects in the R&D lab on multi-million dollar machines - good variety in work, prioritize work life balance. + The machines are all very similar but the controls engineer will have to follow customer specs. + All the machines have templates for the HMIs already and a lot of the code is already partially written. + NO Travel - once the machine is built and ready to go, the customers come onsite to Lansing for commissioning and run off. + This usually lasts about 5 days + Because of this, there is no travel for this role unless the employees wants to be involved. + There is a service team that goes to customers for the install and servicing. Responsibilities + Reviewing control designs with Mechanical Project Engineer and Coordinators that are assigned to job prior to build. + Obtaining quotations for electrical control enclosures, push button stations, etc., at time of submission of control design for customer's approval. + -valuating inside/outside design capabilities, supply accurate information and support documentation to keep designs on time and to customer specifications. + Working efficiently with shop personnel in the build, startup, debug and the run-off of machine. Provide any necessary support for Service and Training personnel during machine startup in customers plant. + Machine safety (both US an Canadian standards) + Commissioning machines out on floor + Working with existing controls engineers to help create standards for junior team members Qualifications + Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering + Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, & pneumatic troubleshooting + Ability to read & interpret schematics & blueprints Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
