The role:
Opportunity for a Mechanical Tradesperson to join our production team based in Darwin supporting the ongoing maintenance and defect rectification of sea boat platforms for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). This position is critical to ensuring our fleet remains reliable, seaworthy, and delivered to the highest standards of safety, quality, cost efficiency and timeliness.
In this role, you will be responsible for the inspection, execution, and delivery of maintenance activities, while contributing to the achievement of key performance requirements across the programme. You’ll also work collaboratively with ACPB stakeholders to maintain positive relationships and uphold Thales core values across the enterprise.
Responsibilities will include:
Performing maintenance and defect rectification activities in accordance with work instructions, technical specifications, workshop manuals, and repair methodologies.
\t\t\tEnsuring compliance with all Quality, Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies and practices.
\t\t\tDiving sea boats in Darwin Harbour waters when required.
\t\t\tDriving and towing sea boat trailers on NT gazetted roads.
\t\t\tFault diagnosis, problem solving, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
\t\t\tWorking effectively both autonomously and within a team environment.
\t\t\tCompleting and submitting accurate closing/service reports (OQE).
\t\t\tCarrying out offsite work or participating in projects outside the Darwin metropolitan area as required.
\t\t\tSupporting the delivery of programme objectives relating to cost, time, safety, and quality.

How about you?
\tCertificate III trade qualification (minimum).
\t\t\tStrong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
\t\t\tProficient computer skills across the Microsoft Office Suite.
\t
Desirable:
\tExperience in asset maintenance for naval or maritime systems.
\t\t\tMechanical or diesel engine experience.
\t\t\tForklift licence.
\t\t\tDogman qualification.
\t\t\tCoxswain Grade 2 certification.
