Mechanical Technician

Summary: Seeking a Mechanical Technician with expertise in aerospace environments to support flight assembly, testing, and rapid prototyping.

Requirements: 3+ years machine shop experience in aerospace or 7+ years without. Proficient in ASME Y14.5 GD&T practices. - Experience using mill, lathe, laser cutter, and smaller tools. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Preferred Skills:

Manual machining including complex lathe mill operations. HeliCoil installation and removal. Use of imaging equipment (visible and IR spectrum). Safe operation of high pressure gas systems, vacuum systems, ovens, furnaces, cryogenic equipment, hazardous materials. CAD/CAE (SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360) proficiency.

Responsibilities:

Assemble flight components and conduct electro-mechanical integrations. Conduct testing for spacecraft/lunar landers per SMC-S-016 standards. Create/review engineering drawings for GD&T completeness and DFM. Translate designs into models/parts for rapid prototyping. Participate in program milestones (Concept to Flight Build). Locate/purchase hardware/materials as per design requirements. Fabricate/machine parts for development/testing stages.

Pay Details: $27.00 to $36.00 per hour
