Summary:
KBR is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician (Lead) to support the fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and transportation of mechanical hardware and systems. In this role, you will work under limited supervision, performing complex technical tasks to build, install, troubleshoot, repair, and modify components, equipment, and systems. You will collaborate with engineers and project leads to ensure high-quality technical execution and adherence to safety and mission requirements.

Basic Compensation:
$86,700 - $130,000 USD annually
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and participate in the fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing of mechanical hardware and systems.
Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair structural/mechanical hardware and related equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and calibration of equipment and systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions.
Construct components, subunits, or models, and adapt standard equipment to meet program needs.
Troubleshoot and correct equipment malfunctions, making modifications to test setups or procedures when necessary.
Select, set up, and operate standard test equipment; record and analyze test data to ensure compliance with performance specifications.
Assist in design modifications by compiling data on design requirements, specifications, and materials.
Document operational failures, repairs, and modifications for knowledge sharing and process improvement.
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and cranes (preferred).
Perform other duties as assigned in support of mission success.
Required:
Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field, or completion of a military technical training program, or completion of a technical institute program, or a minimum of 8 years of directly related experience with mechanical hardware and systems.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
Ability to work effectively as a collaborative and versatile team member.
Desired:
Forklift and crane operation experience.
Prior experience in mechanical systems assembly, integration, and maintenance in a technical or engineering environment.
Experience with Space Flight hardware and systems.
